I Can Go To McDonald's You Say? (Life Updates) | VINI, VIDI, VICI
Updated: May 11, 2020
What is happening, everyone? I know my blog has been quiet in the past month and to be frank with you all, I was going through a dry spell. My mind was pretty much all over the place, and I kept thinking am I even doing anything that is interesting? One day I had an #Adele moment.
And I realized that...
I need to change the way I do things.
Thanks to a friend of mine who without knowing it gave me some good advice. I started using my 2020 Planner to organize my thoughts (S/O to you Rachel Z).
Yes, you read that right. I am using my 2020 planner with not many places to go, but definitely things that I know I want to do each day.
I know you all have seen the memes of 2020 planners being the most useless item bought in 2019.
Like this one....
For me, my 2020 planner is bringing me some stability. Instead of waking up whenever I wake up at 7 am and go to bed at 10 pm. I quite literally lay it all out and I check things off as I get them done. Some of you might wonder, why I put "wake up" as a task, but it's knowing that is something I can achieve each day it motivates me to keep getting after my other goals for each day.
Even if I don't get to something at a specific hour, I at least have a reminder in my planner to check it off before the day is done.
Overall, if you are someone who is going through something as I did I encourage you to try using that planner you want to just get rid of. You never know how it might help you get through this new way of living.
As they say in Italy, #Andràtuttobene
(Everything will be fine)
I can go to McDonald's you say?
For those of you who may follow my Instagram, you have probably seen one of the biggest life updates. On May 4th, 2020 Italy officially began Phase 2 of the #Coronavirus lockdown. This was a huge milestone for the country as it has been since the beginning of March that the country had shut down a majority of the economy.
This was also a huge milestone for me because ya girl was able to travel outside of her community to get McDonald's :).
So what does Phase 2 entail? Well for starters, we are allowed to travel outside of our communities for not just takeout but to walk, run, hike, and more. Prior we were only allowed to be in our yards for exercise, with the exception of going less than 200 meters from your home if needed. Food delivery was only allowed for a few businesses and most could only travel to certain communities.
We do still have to wear masks when we are out and about as before, but I will take a blessing where I can get one. And I know you all can imagine Milo's face when we went on our first walk together since February.
Let's put in this work:
Speaking of exercise, that is something else I have also started doing! Thanks to my amazing husband, and his continuous support of wanting to see me happy. He helped me find a workout program called Team Body Project (TBP). If anyone knows me, I was never one to follow a workout program. I would just go to the gym and do what I gotta do.
But after almost a year of not really putting in the effort, I needed somewhere to start without hating doing it. Especially at home, where sometimes it's hard to get motivated.
For anyone who has not heard of TBP, they are a husband and wife who create workouts for anyone who may just be starting workout or is just getting back into it. They have a lot of their workouts on YouTube, but if you want to follow a more specific workout you can join as a member. Which I ended up doing after following their Real Start Plan for 3 weeks.
I started on March 20th, and from then to now I have lost 3 pounds and have lost between 4-5 inches off my waist! I honestly have been so happy just looking at myself every day and seeing my progress. I still have some time to go, but with the motivation from my husband, the TBP team, and my planner I know I can do it.
Definitely let me know below if you all would like me to share my workout journey with you all.
I hope you all are doing well through this new way of life we are experiencing. Thank you for continuing to support me and my blog. I promise you all that I will keep myself accountable to update you all on all the new and random things that happen along the way.
Leave a comment below and let me know if you have been using a planner or if you are going to try it out!
(I was feeling myself on that last photo lol)
Stay positive friends,
xoxo Chelsea Abena
