Some Masks, Some Friends, and a Vineyard | VINI, VIDI, VICI
What's happen' world? I bring you all another Vini, Vidi, Vici post this week on the blog. If y'all tuned in to my last post on some of my life updates, things are on the up and up here in Italy. We started getting back certain freedoms such as being able to walk, run, and bike anywhere within the region.
Italy was definitely one of the hardest-hit country's when the #coronavirus first hit the country. The lockdown officially started around March 10th. I can definitely say I had my moments of stir-craziness. But now after what almost feels like 100 days later, as the honorable Martin Luther King Jr. said in his famous I Have a Dream Speech...
We are (somewhat) free at last.
Just did Good Thing:
If you've ever been to Italy or watched movies that take place in Italy, you've probably seen how people ride around in their vespas or are biking around the town with the basket in front. Well now picture, me on an urban bike with a basket attached riding through the vineyards.
If you're confused, basically what I am telling y'all is that I bought a bike this past week :)
S/O to Decathlon Italy: 🚴🏾♀️.......🚴🏾♀️.......🚴🏾♀️
I also have to give a shoutout to the military spouse that shared that Decathalon is now open to shop in-store as well. I am not a biker fanatic, but I knew I wanted a bike that had a basket in the front. So, I could ride it around in the neighboring towns and get all the gelato from the local gelato shop nearby.
My husband being the best husband that he is, came with me on my excersion to purchase the bike. Thank goodness too, because I was so excited I almost forgot I needed bike accessories like ya know a helmet :). If any of you follow me on TikTok you may have saw my use of the sound "Just Did a Good Thing." Did I get TikTok famous off of it? Absolutely not, but ya know it made me chuckle. Hopefully, it makes y'all chuckle too!
Some Masks, Some Friends, and a Vineyard:
So it's one thing riding a bike by yourself, but it's another when you get to ride with friends. One of my good friends here is Lauren. After she saw that I bought a bike we both were eager to ride together. We planned to meet up and she brought along her friend Lexi, who I instantly bonded with. After a much-needed glass of wine together we got on our bikes and rode on a path near my house.
Lauren's bike had only one peddle (long story 😬), but she was a trooper the whole way. We even stopped in one of the many vineyards and had ourselves a photoshoot.
That's it for this week's Vini, Vidi, Vici post. I hope you all enjoyed and maybe this is that inspiration you need to get yourself that bike you were thinking about getting too.
Stay safe my friends!
P.S. check out my friend Lexi's Youtube Channel (click here), she talks about some really wild and fun things that have happened to her while living abroad :)
